This public realm retrofit is located in a former industrial district of Beijing where a fragment of mature Aspen forest still dominates. Working together with OMA Hong Kong, our design extends this street heritage and unifies the museum interior with the sidewalk. Much of the design effort was concentrated below ground, where we experimented with soil and planter technologies to permit fast growth and nutrient sharing between trees.

这个公共区域的改造项目位于北京的一个前工业区，这里拥有着一片成熟的白杨森林。我们与 OMA 香港合作，设计延续了这条街道的传统，并将博物馆内部空间流线与人行道融为一体。一大部分的设计特色集中在了地下，我们在这里试验了土壤和种植技术，以允许树木快速生长和养分共享。

Along the street, each planting 'block' features distinct textures and colors, responding to the interior spaces and building structures, with plants that have dramatic seasonal changes. In autumn, the bright yellow foliage of Ginkgo and Aspen trees contrasts with the red façade in the background.

沿着街道，每个种植“区块”都具有独特的纹理和颜色，与室内空间和建筑结构相呼应，植物具有戏剧性的季节变化。秋天，银杏树和白杨树的亮黄色叶子与背景中的红色外墙形成鲜明对比。
